If you’re anything like me, the idea of restarting my life abroad was nerve racking and exciting all at once. There were so many questions that needed to be answered, and, at the end of the day, you were obligated to put an incredible amount of trust into a TEFL program. After going through the program with Hello Academies, I can say that you can trust them fully. Barbra, the course instructor is amazing and actually cares about her students. The rest of the staff is extremely helpful, and you become close friends with the other students and the staff of the program. The experience is amazing. Prague is a fun city, and the money is enough to get by.

Overall, I am very happy I completed this course. The program sets you up for success when teaching and learning, with hours in the classroom that reflect hours spent teaching. TEFL is not for the weak minded, the course is intensive as you are learning a profession in 4 weeks, and are expected not surpass expectations from the bar set. After completion of the course, the team is very helpful in helping to place you into a job, which set my mind at ease when leaving a company in the US to come teach abroad.

Amazing course, providing all you need to get a job in the “real world”. The staff is absolutely amazing and they will help with literally everything you need. They are very professional though will also have a drink with you, which gives this course the perfect mix of professionalism and personality.
The trainer will get you ready, and though her feedback can be rough, you will soon notice how fast you improve thanks to it.
    Highly advisable!!

It’s easy to say while taking this 4 week intensive course on how to teach English to non-native speakers was an experience I would like to have again, if possible. Everday the office was open at 9 am for students to use and prepare for that days events. This was most useful for myself as I didn’t have internet access or a computer during my course and they provided a computer and the internet. Also if I needed some extra time after the day, 7:30-9:30 or later, someone was always willing to stay behind and allow me to work. This was one of my favorite things about the course, the fact that every person there was always trying to make your time better, easier and comfortable. On a few occasions a member of the team had purchased some items required to finish the course, a binder, plastic inserts, notebook, with being asked or hinted by myself. As they had already knew from listening and remembering that money, for me, was tight during my studying. I of course don’t put this out there for people to take advantage of their kindness but just letting people know that they care and want to help. They scheduled a hockey, which they also payed for and told us about events, such as the International Classical Music festival that was happening that month and the free museum exhibits around Prague, which also happened that month. All together my time studying, living and wondering about Prague felt more like a working vacation than an intensive 4 week course of learning English. Thank you and hope to see everyone soon.

I truly enjoyed my experience taking this TEFL course. My instructor for my TEFL training was patient and very informative. During my training, she inspired the students with helpful and current lessons while making us laugh. In addition, she assisted us all with developing our ESL resumes and continued to send me helpful resources upon conclusion of my training. It seemed scary to me at first to move to a different country, but now I know exactly what to do, how to find jobs, and how to be successful as a teacher. I’m so much more confident and really looking forward to a year abroad. On top of that, the coordinator is great, and we had everything we needed during the course. They met me at the airport when I arrived and I stayed in one of their student apartments, which was really nice. I didn’t have to worry about finding my way around the city at first because the coordinator took us on a tour and helped me with directions when I needed it. Overall, I am really happy I decided to take this TEFL course!

I really enjoyed this pilot TEFL course. I was nervous about moving to a foreign country but Smaller Earth helped me with every little detail from picking me up at the airport to finding housing for me. The course itself was very informative and I felt that I was prepared and ready to teach by the end. The onsite coordinator helped me with any issues that came up such as visas or finding jobs after the course. TEFL courses are a big investment but I was able to find a job right after I graduated making it really worth the money. I am now able to work in a new country and get experience which will look great on my resume!
